As we campaign to halt the reckless burning of fossil fuels, deforestation and corporate wrongdoing, Europe’s businesses, banks and lawmakers form a crucial part of the puzzle.
We’re holding up a mirror to businesses and financiers to show how their supply chains and investments perpetuate environmental devastation and human rights abuses. We’ve found links between British pensions and forest destruction, EU banks and land grabs, and transition minerals and violent protests, throwing the need for corporate accountability and due diligence into sharp relief. And with environmental protestors increasingly facing legal backlash across the region, we’re making sure that the criminalisation of protest doesn’t go unheard.
