Mike became Global Witness CEO in 2020. Under his leadership, the organisation is pursuing a new direction: shifting the balance of power from big polluters profiting most from climate breakdown to the people worst affected.
From 2016-2020 Mike was our Director of Campaigns. From 2013-2016, as Asia Director, he led engagement in China and investigated corruption in Myanmar’s jade business.
Mike managed our work on forests and land rights from 2012-2013. From 2007-2012 he led campaigns on war economies in Africa. Between 2002-2005, Mike was in Cambodia, running a team of undercover investigators exposing illegal logging and corruption.
